Devon loveliness

Now I have rediscovered these from the summer and are just too lovely not to share! I took these at Tom Green's beautiful cottage in Ashprington, Devon. Do visit their reclaimed furniture shop in South Brent, Devon. www.green-homeware.blogspot.co.uk

A blustery autumn afternoon

Right so hard to take great pics on a drizzly, chilly and blustery Sunday afternoon, but I've tried! These were taken at Kew, and oh - even in the rain it was so beautiful and golden! I can't think of a better place to experience a proper autumn extravaganza of colour and pattern! I even started collecting leaves and had to stop myself from kicking piles up into the air! Do go if you can, it really is amazing at this time of year!

Green's Homeware opens!

This is something i'm very excited about - Tom Green & my sister, illustrator Catharine Collingridge have just set up and opened a shop in the village of South Brent, Devon. It sells re-claimed furniture, homeware, handmade goods & original artworks. The blog: www.green-homeware.blogspot.co.uk

This is just a taster of things to come - all items are for sale and I have labeled a few items above:

The exterior of Green's in South Brent, Devon - if you're ever passing pop in and say hello, it will be manned by Tom, Cathy or Catharine.

Household goods including vintage crockery, chopping boards, pots and jugs.

Handmade items such as scented lavender bags, hand printed cards by Catharine and yours truly, cosy cushions and realms of bunting!

My oil paintings have also made a bit of an appearance - painted in situ on Wonston Manor Farm in Hampshire and all hand framed and for sale.

If you have any queries, please do visit their blog which will be updated regularly with new finds:

Crossing Cultures at the Ashmolean, Oxford

So this weekend I made a trip to the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford- really well worth a visit, a veritable treasure trove of pattern and colour! Amazing ceramics and artifacts from the Asian Crossroads and West Meets East Galleries, from Indian and Islamic art to works from the Mediterranean, China and Japan.
